Charlii Travels was started by a small group of friends who'd spent twenty years showing visiting writers, photographers and chefs the South Asia they actually lived in. People kept asking for the same thing: not a tour, but a friend in the city. So we made that the company.

We work only in eight cities — Pokhara, Lumbini, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Paro, Thimphu, Chitwan and Kathmandu. In each one, our representative is someone who actually lives there: a former classical musician in Varanasi, a Bhutanese guide trained at the Royal Institute in Paro, a Tharu villager on the edge of Chitwan. They are not freelance fixers. They are family.

Every journey is private. Every detail is handled. The only thing we ask of you is that you arrive a little curious and leave a little changed.
